Kicking things up

When I found Wendy, via Google search, one of the things that really jumped out at me was how she used the TBB workouts to enhance her triathlon training.  That intrigued me.  That was a large part of the reason I picked Chalean Extreme.  I knew these programs worked and knew that strength training would help my endurance base.  And when BB announced P90X2 was coming out, I didn't pay much attention to it.  After all, I thought it was just a continuation of P90X, which I wasn't interested in doing.  I had discussed it with Kris and didn't want to devote the time to P90X because with my schedule something else would suffer, possibly my running.  That wasn't happening!!!

However, over the last few months, I've come to realize that P90X2 is not a continuation of P90X, it's an entirely different level of workout.  It's geared towards the athlete who wants to take their "game", whatever that "game" is up a level.  And I'm all about doing whatever I can to "kick things up ".

So, of course, I ran it by Wendy, who is all over my getting it!!!   Way into it!!  My only concern is getting overwhelmed, which I can do.  I want to do and do and do and then all of a sudden, I'm burnt out!!  That happened last year, training for the duathlon.  I did it to myself.  I remember emailing Kris and she suggested I take a few days off.  With Wendy, however, it's slightly different.  I log in my workouts every day and the woman reads EVERY SINGLE WORD!!!  I found that out real fast.  She may be 2000 miles away from me, but she's "watching" me, if you know what I mean!!!  LOL!!!  So, I think if I do start to get overwhelmed with my training, she'll catch it.  Sometimes it shocks me how closely she "watches".

So, I'll get it sometime in the next couple weeks.  And the one thing I do know, for sure, about it, is that it has a great deal of core work.  And after the last few months of swimming, I am really coming to appreciate how strong my core needs to be!!   P90X2 seems to address core strength, balance, agility and over all strength training.  It sounds like a complete package for me as a triathlete.  And, after all, Wendy recommended it, so how can I go wrong????  The woman is my coach, right??  I'll post when I get started on it.
