The Journey

The only constant in the universe is change

I have loved that quote since the first time I ever heard it.  It's true, we are constantly changing, never truly standing still.  I had a friend who believed we were either moving forward or moving backward.

I was thinking of that on my swim, this morning.  A year ago I was starting to realize that if I really wanted to become a triathlete, I needed to learn to swim.  This morning, I got in that pool, after having not swam for two weeks and it was like coming home.  I was very comfortable there.  A comfort I did not have a year ago.  In the last year, I've changed, I've transformed from someone who's biggest fear was drowning to a pretty confident swimmer.  And the ability to call myself a "triathlete" is such a big reward for all my hard work.  We are raised in a society that says when you work hard, you get rewarded.  So, it was cool when I saw what Beachbody was doing.

For years they had the WOWY Supergym.  You logged your workout in daily and you were instantly eligible for a random drawing of $300.  However, as of Sept 4, this year, that changed.  Beachbody had decided to reward folks for their transformation.  And it's rather easy.  You need to be using a BB product (makes sense!), have a BB account (free or club) and then you take before and after pictures, write a short blurb about how BB has helped you transform.  It's pretty awesome.  Think about it, you're using their workout to transform yourself, anyway, so why not get rewarded for doing what you are already doing?   Seems like a no-brainer to me, in regards to entering.

I have not met a person who isn't interested in bettering their health.  Even the fittest people I know, are constantly learning, adjusting and doing what they feel will keep them at optimal health.  We are all aging, there is no denying that and with that comes certain changes.  But by being proactive in regards to your health, you can deal with those changes and not let them stop you from being active.  Because to live any other way than moving forward is not the kind of life I'm interested in.

  1. Great blog as always Robin! I truly believe that even the normal obstacles we face, age, injuries and just life in general should not get in the way of what we dream.
