I am in the process of changing my work situation. My "regular" job isn't steady, I was brought back for one week and then laid off again. In the meantime, I found 2 part time jobs. One is working in a kitchen and has "regular" hours but different days each week, thankfully, all weekdays. The other is a catering job, which most will know, has no set hours and no set days. So, I've been trying to figure out how to fit my workouts in.
Since my "weak" area is swimming, I want to make sure that is the first thing I schedule. It needs to be a steady routine, so that I can progress with that.
And as I've mentioned, I was "down" for a while due to my knee issues. So, I've spent some time, over the past few days thinking about it. And I've figured out I need to do the same thing, with my workouts, that I do with my food prep. You see, every Sunday afternoon, I take over the kitchen and prepare my weeks worth of food. I have learned this takes a great deal of stress out of my workweek. It, also, helps me not "stray" from my food plan.
So, I figured I'd do the same for my workouts. Plan them out for the week. While I will occasionally have a catering job "switch" on me, for the most part, I know by Sunday what's on the schedule for the next 7 days.
This week I have set my swim lesson for Tuesday. Tomorrow I'm going to run. And having taken a bike class this morning, immediately followed by an ab workout, I realize I need to factor in more core work!
It's now Sunday evening and my food is prepped for the week. Next up, set up my workout schedule for the week. And get back on track with Chalean Extreme. My goal is still the same, get to that Ironman start line and I need to make progress towards that goal every day. From not indulging over the holidays to staying consistent on my workouts. And I know I can.
